A Reflection: Brad Gates

I’m thinking about how different life was 25 years ago.

I was 20 years old, going to Mt Hood Community College amd living in the house I grew up in. No kid, no wife. In fact, I didn’t even know her yet. But 25 years ago, I walked into Oak Harbor Freight Lines for the first time.

Since then, I’ve been a dock worker, a biller, in customer service, a manager, and a support person.  I’ve been married, became a dad, figured out what I wanted to do when I grew up, graduated college, and started working at a church to pursue that goal.

I’ve seen 5 presidents, countless natural disasters, a terrorist attack on our country, a global pandemic, and the Chicago Cubs even won a world series.

Through all of that, Oak Harbor has been there.  No matter what was going on in the world, Oak Harbor has been there. 

It’s fun to look back, but right now….It’s time to go to work.
