Retirement After 17 Years at Reno

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

A well-earned congratulations and goodbye to Reno Line Driver Dave Fritz.

Dave retired on Jan 1 after giving 17 years of service to Oak Harbor-All out of Reno as a Line Driver. Dave spent the better part of his career either running Southern California or doing “Independence Turns” with Los Angeles drivers.  Dave navigated US 395 each night which took him over 4 passes ranging from 7400 to 8500 feet (on the turn he went over each pass twice each night). Dave amassed approximately 1.5 million safe driving miles during his tenure. One of the hazards of running line out of Reno is the amount of wildlife encountered on the roads. Dave had 8 deer, 1 horse, 1 owl, and 1 bat strikes during his career here.

Dave plans to relax, learn to sleep at night, and play guitar and bass with some local bands he is part of.

Best of luck and THANKS from all of us at Oak Harbor.
