Silver Leaf Award: Connie Molina and Melody Ovando
LAX has two employees that are the recipients of our Silver Leaf Award, Connie Molina (Driver Check-In) and Melody Ovando (OS&D clerk). Connie works the night shift and Melody works the morning shift. Their dedication to the team has been steadfast. Together they constructed a new thought process for employees which was created while still maintaining their daily tasks in P&D and working opposite shifts.
Both have teamed together alongside Carrie Hull to create a “Cheat Sheet” with procedures for Drivers when recording exceptions so that they are properly notating and handling shipments all in uniform. This will ensure that all Drivers are correctly reporting any OS&D issues and keep them confident with their diction. Additionally, this will provide a heightened awareness of proper exception-taking to improve or mitigate any future claims as we move forward.
Connie and Melody consistently make themselves available for coaching with Drivers and Dispatchers to ensure they are identifying issues accurately. They are valuable Oak Harbor team members which is evident in their continued dedication to upholding Oak Harbor’s Core values.
