OHU Session 2: Meet the New Class

We have selected three internal candidates for the upcoming session beginning August 1st. Our new group will have the month of August to transition from their current work location to their new one as Leadership Students. They will begin in-person work September 18th.

As you see by the size of our student groups, we are seeking top-tier talent, looking for quality rather than quantity. The LEAD course is designed to prepare long-term leaders for careers in leadership at Oak Harbor Freight Lines. With that in mind, we are confident the three students we’ve selected are exactly that: long-term future leaders for this company.

The students for our second session are:

  • Connie Molina, Montebello
  • Rudy Ramirez, Phoenix
  • Zakee Fitzgerald, Las Vegas

Lastly, a critical component to this process is our mentor/student pairing:

  • Connie is pairing with Daniel Orr (Medford, Bend, Klamath Falls, Eureka)
  • Rudy will pair with Randy Johnson (Reno)
  • Zakee with Brandon Kollars (Olympia & Bremerton)

We feel these combinations are ideal for each student’s learning and development, as well as unique opportunities for each mentor.

Connie Molina

Driver Check-In, LAX

Connie has a knack for solving problems through collaborative teamwork.

She was a recipient of our Silver Leaf Award on October 27th of last year. Away from work, Connie enjoys camping, hiking, and urban gardening.

Rudy Ramirez

P&D Driver, PHO

11 months

“I enjoy getting together with family, having cookouts, and enjoying life as it should be – making memories that will last a lifetime.”

Hailing from from Brawley California, Rudy is naturally very competitive and his two kids define his focus. “One of the most important goals for myself is being the best father I can be.”

Zakee Fitzgerald

Outbound Dock, LVS

1 year, 10 months

“My goal is to succeed and drive for the stars!”

Zakee was born and raised in Las Vegas. Full of ambition, he is a self-proclaimed anime geek. He enjoys art, music, games, and self-discipline.
