Changes Ahead!

We are in the process of repackaging L.E.A.D. (Leadership Excellence and Development), our annual leadership program. After three years, and dwindling internal participation, we’ve realized that LEAD has had unrealistic travel and relocation expectations – this has led to low levels of interest from Oak Harbor team members. The L&D team is actively working to repackage this program to be more appealing to everyone in the business with an interest in leadership development.

You can expect to hear much more about this over the next few months. Some changes to look forward with the program will include one week of contact per month for 9 months, will not require relocation afterward, and will only require 5 weeks of travel rather than the original 30+ weeks.

I am very excited to get this new package out to the larger team and begin recruiting for this; the handful of leaders I’ve shared this with seem to appreciate the shift. Afterall, the purpose of the Leadership and Development team’s work is to add value to our internal teams and, as a result, do our part to drive operational improvement. The new version of L.E.A.D. will aim to provide those benefits.
