Austin Newell, Accounts Receivable Clerk
Let’s give a big Oak Harbor welcome to Austin Newell, who joined our Accounts Receivable department on June 16, 2025! He is a recent graduate of the University of Washington.
Outside of work, Austin enjoys staying active, he’s a tennis player and a passionate sports fan who is cheering on the Mariners and rooting for UW Football (go Dawgs!). Be sure to say hello and help us make Austin feel right at home!
Sherri Medina, Accounts Receivable Clerk
We’re excited to welcome Sherri Medina back to Oak Harbor Freight Lines! Sherri originally joined the team in July 2019 as a Customer Service Representative at our Auburn Terminal. After some time away, she returned on June 16, and we couldn’t be happier to have her back.
Outside of work, Sherri is creative person who loves knitting, crocheting, and whipping up homemade meals. She’s also a movie buff and enjoys playing games to unwind with her two cats, Fritz and Jordan. Be sure to stop by and say hello, and help us give Sherri a warm welcome back!
Steven Willett, Auto & Property Claims Specialist
Welcome Steven Willett, our Auto and Property Claims Specialist, to the team as well! Here’s what he had to say about himself:
I’ve been married to my wonderful wife Janet for over 9 years now. I’m a nerdy type of guy, so I enjoy things like movies and games. Before coming to Oak Harbor, I worked for Progressive Insurance for four years and have worked in all sorts of various retail management, and sales jobs before that. I graduated College from Central Washington University and grew up in Yakima, WA.
Roberto Polan, San Diego Terminal Manager
Please join me in welcoming Roberto Polan to the Oak Harbor Family!
Roberto comes to Oak Harbor with 38 years of experience in LTL operations and sales. Roberto began his career as a dock worker for a small LTL operation and worked his way through school. He then progressed through multiple advancements in the industry and his last position prior to joining our team was in business development to grow LTL business with a global forwarding organization.
Roberto grew up in San Diego and has been married to his wife Angelica for 35 years. Together they have three grown children, Roberto, Esteban and Natalie. Roberto when not at work likes to spend time with his wife in Rosarito Beach, MX.
We are excited to have Roberto on our team and look forward to his leadership in the SND terminal.
Christian Vandenberg, Revenue Integrity Manager
Please join us in welcoming Christian Vandenberg back to Oak Harbor!
He is taking on the role as Revenue Integrity Manager at the Corporate Office and will be training side by side with Cory Webking until she retires in September to help make the transition smooth.
In his time away from Oak Harbor, he has both gotten married and become a father! Congratulations Christian!
