Jeff Payne, Cedar City
When it comes to precision, passion, and performance behind the wheel, few Drivers embody the spirit of a champion like Jeff Payne. This year, Jeff once again proved why he’s one of the best in the business, earning a coveted spot at the 2025 National Truck Driving Championships in Minneapolis after being crowned Grand Champion at the Utah TDC.
Competing against 50 of the Nation’s top Drivers, Jeff placed an impressive 12th in the 4-Axle category. But this wasn’t just another competition for Jeff, it was his 18th trip to Nationals, a milestone that speaks volumes about his consistency and excellence. Among those appearances, he’s claimed a national title in his class, a rare achievement.
Behind every great Driver is a great support system, and Jeff’s wife, Rhonda, has been instrumental in his journey. Together, they turned our Cedar City terminal into a championship training ground, pouring their time, energy, and heart into preparing for the big stage.
Thank you to Jeff, and his amazing support system, for their hard work behind the scenes and on the road. Their shared commitment to the Truck Driving Championships is nothing short of inspiring, and it reflects the kind of teamwork and tenacity that makes Oak Harbor Freight Lines proud.
We also want to recognize the incredible performances of other Oak Harbor Drivers who made waves at their state competitions.
In Nevada, Jose from Reno earned second place, while Antione, also from Reno, took third in the 3-Axle Van Class. Over in Idaho, Drew Coulter from Boise secured second place in the Tank Truck category.
Representing our California terminals, James Potter of Redding placed 1st in 3-Axle and Peter Lueken of South Bay placed 2nd in 3-Axle. These Drivers exemplify the high standards and competitive spirit that define our company.
As we celebrate these incredible achievements, we’re calling on every Oak Harbor terminal to start revving their engines for next year’s Truck Driving Championships. This is more than a contest, it’s a proving ground for the precision, pride, and professionalism that define our Drivers.
