On December 3rd and 4th, our Los Angeles and Fontana teams took part in what we are calling Operation: Fresh Leaf, assembling food and hygiene packages for their local Salvation Army locations.

L-R: Kevin Kellermann, Kara Smallwood, Jackie Knox, Tammy Anderson, Captain Jayerica Alacar/Salvation Army, Maria Terrones, Robert Silva, Josh Fuentes

This tradition started with Auburn and at Corporate, and we were excited to expand our efforts to two new sites this year. We will also be looking at other terminals for 2026 as we continue to grow this effort.

Employees from every department pitched in, working for hours to prepare hundreds of packages that were then delivered locally to their Salvation Army locations.

Eric Vander Pol, Co-President, added “OAKH has been blessed beyond what we deserve, and it is great that we have the ability to give back and share some hope with people in need. Kudos to the FON and LAX teams! Look forward to seeing where we can impact next year.”

A big thank‑you to everyone who helped make Operation: Fresh Leaf a success.

Operation: Fresh Leaf is an initiative with The Salvation Army and Oak Harbor Freight Lines to provide hygiene and snack kits to individuals and families facing hardship, often during emergencies, in shelters, or through community outreach to those experiencing homelessness. These kits offer more than just essentials – they deliver dignity, comfort, and hope directly to your community.
