Improved Staging Leads to A Cook Off

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Contributed by: Mark Girola, Operations Manager/Sacramento

Sacramento Inbound Dock set a goal to improve staging performance to 40% or lower determined by Supervisor, Andrea Rodriguez, and Lead, Angel Ramirez. This involves improving cross dock loading percentage. Unlike most goals the lower the number the better. This measurement is instrumental in getting our city drivers on the street sooner which improves everything from city production to overtime and claims. We think this is the secret sauce to our improving team culture at the Sacramento Terminal.

TM Cody Moore, on his new Traeger grill, and myself decided to cook a couple 18# Briskets.  Combined each Brisket smoked for about 19 hours. Of course, the event turned into somewhat of a cooking competition.

TM Cody Moore and I couldn’t be more excited about the results this crew generated.
