Here’s a reminder of our 2026 OHFL Safety Goals:
- Reduce accident ratio by 10%
- Achieve and Maintain Vehicle Maintenance Score below 60%
- Achieve and Maintain HM Compliance Score below 60%
Lowest Monthly Total of Work Comp Incidents in 2026
August was a decent month for employee safety across the company.
We recorded 10 total Work Comp incidents, the lowest monthly total of 2026, and our incident rate improved to 5.70, down from 10.97 in July. We also reduced time-loss injuries from 3 in July to 2 in August, resulting in a lost-time injury rate of 1.14.
Preventable Accidents Remain a Top Priority
While injury performance improved, preventable accidents remain an area of focus.
We recorded 24 preventable accidents in August, with an accident ratio of 5.16, a slight increase from July’s 5.07. As we move forward, reducing preventable accidents remains one of our top priorities.
Congratulations to our Linehaul drivers for achieving a perfect month with zero preventable accidents recorded in August.
Safety Starts with Defensive Driving
Our CSA scores remained largely stable. Vehicle Maintenance held at 54%, continuing to meet our goal of staying below 60%.
HOS Compliance remained at 43%, while HM Compliance stayed elevated at 68% and will continue to receive attention. The Crash Indicator increased from 25% to 38%, reinforcing the importance of defensive driving and accident prevention.
