Rukes Retires After 23 Years

Print Friendly, PDF & Email
L-R: Branon Smith (SPO/LEW Terminal Manager), Clay Rukes, and Dan VanderPol (VP of Maintenance)

Clay Rukes, Spokane P&D Driver, retired on May 28th. He had been one of the original drivers that started January 1st, 1998 when the Spokane Terminal officially opened for business. During this time he has been a valuable Spokane Team Member.  Showing up for work daily with a positive attitude, performing any P&D route asked of him, and working with our customers showing skill and professionalism. All of this will be missed moving forward.

The Spokane Team was able to present Clay with an Oak Harbor Clock along with Dan VanderPol (VP of Maintenance) and had a BBQ to celebrate his retirement. Clay plans on traveling with his wife Lori and dog, Bella, going South for the winters and staying in Spokane for the summers. They have daughters in Arizona and Japan, and a son in Spokane with several grandchildren amongst them, which will keep them busy.

We Thank Clay for his years of employment with Oak Harbor Freight Lines, and wish him Good Health and Safe Travels in his retirement.

Branon Smith,
SPO/LEW Terminal Manager
