Operation Safe Driver Week

CVSA’s Operation Safe Driver Week is Underway
This week (Jul 12-18) the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA), in partnership with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and law enforcement agencies, is conducting Operation Safe Driver Week.
Focus on preventing Reckless, Careless, and Dangerous Driving
There will be an increased focus on several risky driving behaviors, including:
- Speeding
- Distracted driving
- Following too closely
- Improper or unsafe lane changes
- Failure to wear a seat belt
- Impaired driving
- Fatigued driving
- Failure to obey traffic control devices and signals
- Reckless or careless driving
Drivers operating unsafely may receive a warning or citation/ticket.
Safety is a Shared Responsibility
Operation Safe Driver Week serves as an important reminder that roadway safety is a shared responsibility. Commercial drivers, passenger vehicle operators, carriers, and law enforcement all play a role in creating safer highways for everyone.
