Business Update

I hope everyone is enjoying an outstanding Summer! It has been a decent 1st half of the year here at Oak Harbor Freight Lines so let’s look deeper into how we did.
A Look at Last Quarter
Bill Count & Revenue
As we sit on July 27, our Bill Count is up 2% for the year and our revenue is up 7% (Including Fuel). Without fuel our Revenue is up 2% and Revenue per hundred weight is flat. Therefore, we are not seeing much in the way of increased rates from our Customers. We are lucky that fuel revenue has helped our profit margins in the first half of the year.
Operating Ratio
YTD our Operating Ratio sits at 93.49% compared to 95.78% in 2025. Our fuel profit is up about $4M from 2025 which is the main driver of our profitability increase, but we are also doing a lot of things right operationally to keep costs under control.

On Time Percentage
Our On-Time Percentage has dipped almost 2 full points from 96.41 on time in 2025 to 94.68 in 2026. There are a select few terminals that are struggling and all have implemented improvement plans to see this number go up. We should see the fruits of this labor within the next 30 days. We pride ourselves on giving the best service in the industry and our Customers love us for our consistency, so when terminals struggle we all feel the strain.
The Industry
We had another LTL carrier close their doors a couple weeks ago. Mountain Valley/DC Logistics had 13 facilities, operating in CA, NV and AZ. We don’t have all the reasons why they failed, but, it is a reminder that we need to stay diligent in keeping Oak Harbor profitable so we can be around for the long term to serve our Customers and take care of our Employees. Besides Mountain Valley closing their doors, we have also heard of other carriers that are laying off workers and have lower bill counts than last year.
