The Dispatcher

Oak Harbor Freight Lines – Newsletter

2026 Q2 David Vander Pol
Sales Excellence Standings

Contributed by: Gerrit Foster, Sales Process Manager

The second quarter of 2026 has provided an encouraging start toward our 2026 goal of growing profitable revenue without sacrificing service and safety. Across our network, Account Managers worked to uncover new opportunities, strengthen existing Customer relationships, and bring additional freight into the Oak Harbor Freight Lines system.

But sales success has never belonged solely to the Sales team. Every shipment we earn begins with a promise to a Customer. That promise is fulfilled by a Driver making a timely pickup or delivery, a dock team keeping freight moving safely and securely, a Customer Service Representative resolving an issue, a mechanic keeping equipment on the road, and countless others who contribute to the Customer experience each day. Long before an Account Manager asks for more business, our team has already established the trust that makes growth possible.

Simply put, sales growth is a ‘Wolf Pack’ effort.

The second quarter standings recognize individual achievement, but they also reflect the collective work of Employees across the company who help make Oak Harbor Freight Lines a carrier Customers want to partner with.

Here are our group leaders after two quarters:

Congratulations to all our Q2 leaders!

These individuals established themselves as early leaders through strong execution, Customer engagement, and a relentless focus on creating opportunities for profitable growth. While the standings highlight individual performance, the results themselves are the product of relationships built throughout the organization. Customers rarely see Oak Harbor Freight Lines as separate departments. They see one company and one team working together to solve transportation challenges. That teamwork continues to be one of our greatest competitive advantages.

‘The Strength of the Wolf Pack’

One of the most exciting developments during the second quarter was the continued expansion of Driver Sales Leads, creating additional opportunities for Drivers and Account Managers to work together in identifying potential growth opportunities.

The program reinforces something we’ve always believed: Some of the best opportunities come from the Employees who interact with our Customers every day.

A Driver notices a warehouse expansion. A Dispatcher hears about a new distribution center. A Rate Clerk offers regular quotes to a customer without an account or pricing. An Account Manager follows up on that information and helps turn it into new business. No single person creates the win alone.

Those moments are powerful reminders that the Strength of the Pack is the Wolf, and the Strength of the Wolf is the Pack. When Employees from different departments share information, communicate effectively, and remain focused on our Customers’ success, growth becomes a natural outcome.

Looking Ahead

While the second quarter standings provide a snapshot of the competition at the halfway mark, there is still plenty of opportunity ahead. New business development, account management, contract renewals and retention, and collaboration across departments will continue to shape the race as the year progresses.

More importantly, every new shipment and every strengthened Customer relationship contributes to something larger than a scoreboard. Growth helps create a stronger network, better density, greater opportunities for investment, and a healthier future for Oak Harbor Freight Lines and its Employees in job security, raises & bonuses, and opportunities for career growth and development.

Congratulations to our leaders at the midpoint and to every member of the Pack who helps create the Customer experience that makes these results possible. The names listed in the standings may represent the individual competitors, but the success behind those numbers belongs to all of us.
