Using Technology To Help Others

Our Oak Harbor Freight Lines Information Technology team started a food drive to supply some much-needed food donations to the Bonney Lake Food Bank, also known as The Market, as they prepare for the Holiday season.

Taking well over a truckload of food items, including bottled water and a huge turkey, it was a most rewarding experience.  We were so grateful to have the opportunity to speak with The Market’s CEO, Stacey Crnich, and her team to discuss the efforts that they are taking to help those that are living without food security.

On top of providing an atmosphere that is warm and inviting, The Market provides a grocery-store, choice model, which affords their customers a dignified shopping experience along with providing food lockers to those in need for contactless food retrieval.

One of the many barriers of access for those without food security is the shame that comes along with it. These food lockers, which are equipped to keep food warm and cold, help eliminate that shame by making it an easy online transaction and a contactless pickup.

We are beyond grateful that we aid this amazing cause, especially during the holiday season, and hope that you too will be inspired to reach out to your local communities and find out how you can help.
