HVP Updates & Results

Some changes have been made for this years’ Henry Vander Pol Award structure. We have transitioned to a 13-work-week cycle for scoring which is in line with our weekly operational goal attainment. There is not an exact match of the productivity metrics included in HVP Scoring to the 3-month sums, as there has been in years’ past.

A reset of the weight classes came with several moves of Terminals. Both Phoenix and Salt Lake City moved to the Heavy Weight Class. Stockton and San Diego have joined the Light Heavy’s and Redding moved to the Middle Weight class. Lastly, the newly opened Patterson terminal has joined the Light Heavy Weight class. Since it made its debut at the tail end of the 13-week period, it won’t have a score for Q1.

We’ve got a strong start to the year for the HVP Boxing Glove! We’re looking forward to who will come out at the top by the end of the year. Let’s see who came out on top for the first 13 weeks.

HVP RESULTS - Q1 2025

Heavy Weight: Salt Lake City

They have continued to absorb new business along with Partnership interchange in both directions without missing a beat. Very strong start to the year with Fontana only 2 points behind them.

Light Heavy Weight: Boise

This terminal went through some radical changes in volume handled, moving the Partnership freight for the PNW to Pasco in the later months last year. They have definitely made all the needed adjustments and are leading the pack in the most tightly contested weight class in Q1. So far there are six terminals within 10 points of each other! This will definitely be a category to keep a close eye on.

Middle Weight: Redding

With the reset of weight classes for 2025, Redding moved up in class from Welter Weight, where they won the Championship in 2024. The Redding team clearly set the standard in their new weight class for Q1.

Welter Weight: Cedar City

After a very strong showing in 2024, the Cedar City team continues to raise the bar and has put a sizable gap between themselves and other contenders in the weight class. To put in it perspective just how strong their results were, they came very close to a perfect score overall.
