CVSA Brake Safety Week: August 23rd thru 29th
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) has announced Aug. 23-29 as this year’s Brake Safety Week.
Increased Focus on Brake Drums and Rotors
This is a seven-day focused inspection and enforcement initiative focused on brake safety.
The goal is to help ensure commercial vehicles on our roadways are properly maintained and functioning safely.
Inspectors will focus on drums and rotors.
Problems with these components can reduce braking performance; damaged or broken pieces can come loose on the road which creates serious risks for other motorists.
Safety is a Shared Responsibility
Take the time to complete thorough pre- and post-trip inspections and ensure all brake components are functioning properly before operating your vehicle. Brake Safety Week serves as a reminder that safety is everyone’s responsibility.
